HI,

Dh had business in Ill. this week & just got home late last night. While he was there his Sales Rep. found out that Trev (dh) had never been to Chicago. Off they went on a driving tour, with dh joking about seeing Oprah & finding AGPC. They drove for over an hour taking in the sites, parked & walked & shopped for over an hour. Then he saw it...AGPC!!! His companions were not only kind enough to let him go in, they accompanied him. So, here was my dh, feeling slightly awkward in this VERY girl place (he's one of three brother's & remember, he is on a business trip as well ) His middle-aged male Sales Rep. was making sure he picked up a free catalog and the twenty something female co-worker was drafted into helping him get souvenirs (& carrying the bag afterwards!lol). They were all new to AG & all very impressed. Dh really liked the Chicago area too. He's actually mellowing on the idea of an AG trip.

Imagine dd's shock when Daddy starts pulling out Chicago souvenir's...DS5 got a baseball cap & postcard, DS2 got a bag of Gummie Bears, and then out came the signature burgundy bag of AGP. Poor thing was home sick from school, but she still managed to drop her jaw in surprise. Dad done good. He bought matching AGP tee's for her (Xl that about fits me, so she's sleeping in it right now) & one for Kit, a backpack for Kit & a Keyring trivia question game. He even folded the bag & brought it back in his luggage so it wouldn't get crushed. What a sweet Dad, huh? [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Funniest thing is, we were quizzing him on what he saw & the poor guy only knows who Kit is & he didn't see her. No idea what was in the window. He did say he wished he had a camera w/ him.

Just wanted to brag on my hubby.

What a sweet thing for him to do! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Now if MY dad had ever done that, I would've been just as shocked as ever! He never did make much of my dolls...just kind of ignored them.

WOW! I think, he deserved a major batch of brownie-points!

CONGRATS on such a DH - a real keeper!

My DH likes to make doll-furniture and he likes the dolls, but I'd really need to intoxicate him very well , so he'd amit that...

The other day, he said, that he loves it, when DD wears her varsity-jacket from AG - I nearly fell over!

    What a thoughtful Dad.

Depending on where you live in VA, you're possibly not that far from AGPNY. I live in Northern VA and it's only a 4 hour drive to NYC!

What a sweet DH! It also sounds like he got the "place exclusive" items too! How cool is that? I don't think my DH would do that on a business trip, that is awesome, but he has taken us to NY. Now that your DH has seen The Place, he probably "gets it" much better. I know it was that way with my DH. He saw how happy DD was, and ALL of the other girls and moms running all around. Not to mention that DD is still talking about it all the time, almost a year later. In fact, we just scheduled a trip to NY yesterday...DH's idea. Who knows, The Place, may have made quite an impact!

Oh Wow! How sweet of your DH. With any luck he's now on his way down the slippery slope . You and DD can make out very well . I sure your DD was very excited. What a very special Daddy she has .
